How to use proxy server

Proxy Settings in Internet Explorer 6.X

  • Click drop-down menu "Tools", choose "Internet Options";
  • Select "Connections" tag on the pop-up window;
  • If you use Dial-Up connection, choose your connection and click "Settings" button. if you use LAN connection, click "LAN Settings" button in the "Local Area Network (LAN) Settings" group box;
  • Enable "Use a proxy server";
  • In fields "Address" and "Port", type proxy name and proxy port number;
  • If nessesary, enable "Bypass proxy server for local addresses";
  • Click "OK";
  • Click "OK" to close IE settings.

  • Click drop-down menu "Tools", choose "Internet Options";
  • Select "Connections" tag on the pop-up window;
  • If you use Dial-Up connection, choose your connection and click "Settings" button. if you use LAN connection, click "LAN Settings" button in the "Local Area Network (LAN) Settings" group box;
  • Enable "Use a proxy server";
  • In fields "Address" and "Port", type proxy name and proxy port number;
  • Type URL of a proxy configuration file if enable "Use automatic configuration script";
  • Or enable "Automatically detect settings" to automatic detect the proxy settings;
  • If nessesary, enable "Bypass proxy server for local addresses";
  • Click "OK";
  • Click "OK" to close IE settings.
Proxy Settings in Firefox

  • Click drop-down menu "Tools", choose "Options";
  • Select "Network" tag under "Advanced" page;
  • In field "Connection" click "Settings"
  • Enable "Manual proxy configuration" if you want to configure the proxy manually;
  • Select "HTTP Proxy", "SSL Proxy", "FTP Proxy", "Gopha Proxy" or "Socks Host" for different proxy types. Enable "Use this proxy server for all protocals" if this proxy will used for all proxy types;
  • Type proxy name and proxy port number;
  • In field "No Proxy for", type the target location where you do not want to use a proxy;
  • Or enable "Automatic proxy configuration URL" if you have the URL of a proxy configuration file.
  • Click "OK";
  • Click "OK" to close Firefox settings.
Proxy Settings in Opera

  • Click drop-down menu "Tools", choose "Preferences";
  • Select "Advanced" tag and select "Network" on the pop-up window;
  • Press "Proxy servers" button;
  • Select "HTTP", "HTTPS", "FTP", "Gopher" or "WAIS" for different proxy types and type proxy name and proxy port number in the input field;
  • Select "Use proxy for local servers" if necessary;
  • Enable "Do not use proxy on the addresses below" and type the addresses in the text field;
  • Enable "Use automatic proxy configuration" if you have the URL of a proxy configuration file;
  • Click "OK";
  • Click "OK" to close Opera settings.
